Lives!

Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior!
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!
Vainly they watch His bed, Jesus my Savior!
Vainly they seal the
dead, Jesus my lord!
Death cannot keep
His prey, Jesus my Savior!
He tore the bars
away, Jesus my Lord!
Where, O death, is
your victory?
Where, O death, is
your sting?
Christ is alive and
death has been swallowed up in victory.
Darkness fell
covering the earth with night;
Death and hell trying
to hide His light.
But even the gave
could not keep Him in.
God’s love had
broken the chains of sin.
His sacrifice
ransomed the souls of men.
Refrain:
Hallelujah! He is risen!
Hallelujah! Jesus
lives!
Joy and love with
reign forever!
Hallelujah! Jesus
lives!
The Lamb was slain, shedding His precious blood;
Heaven’s gain: the promised Son of God.
Angels rejoice to
welcome Him home,
Singing in triumph
around the throne.
All of creation let
His praise be known!
Refrain:
His glories now we
sing, Who died and rose on high,
Who died eternal
life to bring and lives that death may die.
